Big Political

Big Political was a Novelty Pokémon introduced January of 2022. The Sprite was done by moderator Oshi.

Physiology

The Big Political is a part of the Ranairata genus, which includes Poliwag and its line. However, unlike their cousins they are not known to evolve. This species has a much stockier, chubbier build with a paddle-like tail and small feet. They have large mouths that often make them look as if they were smiling. They have very small eyes which do not see well and smooth, wet skin, which needs to stay moist (i.e from humidity or any other source of water) or else their skin may dry up. They prefer warm and humid climates and will hibernate during the winter.

Diet

The Big Political's diet consists mainly of insects, but eating algae, duckweed and very small fish is not unheard of. They can also eat berries, fruits, vegetables and jellybeans. They may have trouble eating as they have no arms hands. They prefer being hand fed.

Behavior

Big Politicals spend much of their time by small to mid-sized ponds, getting into constant, huge political debates with each other. Although generally a friendly creature, these amphibians have been known to get into very aggressive battles (they bump and roll into each other, splashing the other with water they kick up) over what they believe is right and wrong. Each moon cycle, they "elect" a new president of the pond, but this usually doesn't go out well as they also may fight over who will become the president and forget that they did so in the first place.

Big Politicals have been known to roll around in mud just so that their trainers will give them nice, warm baths. They additionally seem to be very affectionate towards their trainers, even bringing them nice gifts like pebbles and The History of Politics in the Unova Region by Bob Boberts. They love to be carried around, hugged, and enjoy watching meaningful movies with others.

• The name for Big Political was created when moderator Oshi, while making a Big Poliwag Doll sprite, had the word "Poliwag" accidentally autocorrected to "Political."
