Mewtwo Battle
Somewhere off the shores of Cerulean City is a dark, mysterious and gloomy cave. Cerulean Cave is inhabited by several strong Pokémon, but most notably is a Pokémon only told in stories; a vengeful Pokémon that resides in the deepest parts of this cave, far from any other Pokémon or human, and for good reason. No one knows what is true or what is not, but the strongest, most talented trainers have told that at night they'd hear a mysterious voice in their head telling them to "test their might" at a strange cave for a reward...
Requirements
For a user to battle Mewtwo, they must have obtained certain Pokémon native to the region of Kanto:
- Venusaur
- Charizard
- Blastoise
- Butterfree
- Pidgeot
- Raichu
All Pokémon must be level 100, originally owned by the user and hatched after the date they had previously battled Mewtwo, if they have before. If the user does not meet these requirements, Mewtwo will not battle them. If they do, they can head over to the cave and have a battle of fate! Starting January 15, 2022[1], Mewtwo can be battled 60 days after completing the previous battle.
Trivia
- Originally, Mewtwo was only able to be battled once, and the menu option would disappear. Starting January 15, 2022, Mewtwo is able to be battled repeatedly after waiting 60 days.
