FAQ & Help Section
The FAQ & Help section contains a tutorial specifically for new users trying to get their bearings. It shows you how to do most of the basic things on Poliwager. There's even a prize for completing the tutorial, so it's recommended that you do it, even if you have a good grasp of what's going on.

The button is on the left side bar under the Community section.

Okay, I did the thing, what now?
Check out the My Achievements button - it's at the bottom of the My Account section. This will take you to the Achievements page where you can check out all the things you'll eventually do on the site. There's all sorts of things - collecting items, making loads of money, evolving Pokémon - and knowing what sorts of things you want to do first will help you have the most fun in Poliwager!

Once you've done that? Get to clicking everything else! All of the buttons do something or have hover text explaining what they are. You basically can't go wrong - just don't sell anything you happen to collect yet, since you might need to collect a lot of them in order to get an achievement.

What kinds of things will I be doing all the time?
No matter who you are, there's a few things you're probably doing all the time.

* Collecting Pokémon and eggs. You can collect up to 6 eggs at a time, and an unlimited number of Pokémon. You can find eggs on the Adopt page, and you can find both Pokémon and eggs in the Pokémon Shelter (the link is located in the "Adopt a new egg" blurb.)
* Clicking Pokémon and eggs. You'll want to click your own eggs and party obviously, but you can also click other people's eggs and mons. By clicking 100/500/1000 eggs and mons each day, you can get bronze/silver/gold tier daily rewards!
* Doing the dailies. Most things on Poliwager happen on an hourly or daily basis, and here's a bit on what they all do:
** The Pokéwalker (on the left bar rather than the right) can have one Pokémon in it at a time. When you do things on the site, the mon inside will gain EXP at a very fast rate. You can also play with your Pokéwalker mon once every 15 minutes for a chance to earn berries, valuable items, and Zygarde Cubes.
** Mt. Chimney can be walked through once an hour, and has a chance to give you highly valuable items. Later on, you'll be able to buy HM08 Dive from the Poké Mart, which is very similar to Mt. Chimney but more profitable.
** The Legendary Number Game can be played once a day for a 1-in-100 chance of winning a Regi! You also have a 2-in-100 chance of winning a  Mystery Box (and it's a mystery even to me what's inside one of these!)
** The Day Care Center can be used once every 3 hours. You can breed any 2 Pokémon of the same egg group and recieve an egg of
** The Pokémon Camp is a place where you can send a Pokémon to gain happiness. Every time you send a Pokémon to the camp, you'll need to spend a Camping Ingredient, and the Pokémon will join a camp where they'll gain large amounts of EXP and happiness. The camps reset at set times (usually every 3-5 hours) and can be viewed by visiting the camp.

How do I make money easily?
Money is one of the most important things you'll need in the beginning of the game, allowing you to get Key Items, Evolution Stones, Camping Items, and other nice things. Can't seem to make money anywhere near fast enough? Read on!
Mount Chimney
The #1 easiest way to make money in Poliwager's early game is by walking at Mt. Chimney. When you walk around Mt. Chimney, there's a chance to find both colored Shards and Comet Shards. The colored Shards aren't worth much, but the Comet Shard is worth $15,000 per item, and you'll find both more often than you'd think. Be sure to visit Mt. Chimney as often as you can!
Skip the Go-Goggles - they don't improve your chances of finding items, so if you want to make money fast then you should skip them until you own HM08 Dive. However, if you want to complete the Pokédex as quickly as possible, then buying Go-Goggles before HM08 Dive is acceptable.
HM08 Dive
Once you earn enough money, the HM08 Dive should be your first priority. This allows you to visit the Underwater Area, which is like Mt. Chimney but with different and more common drops. The Big Pearl is worth $4,000, but is much more common than the Comet Shard and a .
Second priority is the Scuba Gear - this DOES improve your chance of finding items, so after buying HM08 Dive you should get the Scuba Gear. Be sure to buy Dive first though - Scuba Gear doesn't do anything until Dive is unlocked!
Daily Challenge Prizes
Daily Challenges are very helpful for finding items to sell. Each level gives different items:
The Bronze Challenge isn't worth much, only giving a berry and a camping ingredient. The berry can't be sold, and the camping ingredient is worth more being used to raise a Pokémon's EXP and happiness. Good goal for bad internet or loading times, but generally not recommended for making quick money.
The Silver Challenge is best for making money, giving a berry and an Evolution Item or Stone for 500 clicks. In general, Stones are more common than Items and are worth selling in order to get HM08 Dive. See below for more on selling these, but in general, this is the best way to go for fast money in the beginning.
The Gold Challenge is very valuable but not as good for making money, giving a rare item and a Berry. The rare item could be a special collectible, a Mystery Box or Mystery Key, or a special Summoning Item. In general, these rare prizes are worth too much to be sold, and at 1,000 clicks per day they may require a large amount of grinding to get.
Selling Evolution Stones
Evolution stones are worth more as money than for evolving Pokémon early game. This may seem counter-intuitive, since Evolution Stones let you collect even more Pokémon. But in the early game, you find a lot of Pokémon very fast, and most of them are going to level up through EXP rather than evolution stones. You can begin using stones on Pokémon once you own Dive and Scuba Gear.

Mount Chimney & HM08 Dive
Evolution stones are always available in the Poké Mart for $2,100 as well as from the Silver Daily Prize. Making $2,100 will be much easier once you own HM08 Dive and Scuba Gear, and the Silver Daily Prize can be earned by clicking 500 Pokémon in one day (which isn't too much of a time investment if your loading speed is good.)
The #1 easiest way to make money in Poliwager's early game is Mt. Chimney. When you walk around Mt. Chimney there's a chance you ca

Hoard and Sell Evolution Stones
Evolution stones and evolution items are not quite the same, though. Evolution items come in a wider variety, only evolve one or two species of Pokémon, and are in general harder to find. Both stones and items cost $2100 in the store, but you may want to save the items since they're harder to get for free.
This may seem counter-intuitive, since Evolution Stones let you collect even more Pokémon. But in the early game where income is low, the stones may be worth as piggy banks than for evolving Pokémon. Evolution stones are always available in the Poké Mart for $2100, and making $2100 will be much easier once you own HM08 Dive.

When I first started playing Poliwager, I felt like making any amount of progress was impossible without having to make clicking my new full-time job. If you're new to Poliwager and feel the same way, don't despair; it'll get really fun soon, and with some of these methods, you can get to your favorite part even faster!

This article is rather in-depth, so I've broken it up using headings to make it more readable. Each big heading will describe one question or sticking point people tend to have, and the little headings will describe methods of fixing them. I speak mainly from my own experience when suggesting solutions, so hopefully they will be of practical use.

How do I make money easily?[edit | edit source]

Money is one of the most important things you'll need in the beginning of the game, allowing you to get Key Items, Evolution Stones, Camping Items, and other nice things. Can't seem to make money anywhere near fast enough? Read on!

Mount Chimney[edit | edit source]

The #1 easiest way to make money in Poliwager's early game is by walking at Mt. Chimney. When you walk around Mt. Chimney, there's a chance to find both colored Shards and Comet Shards. The colored Shards aren't worth much, but the Comet Shard is worth $15,000 per item, and you'll find both more often than you'd think. Be sure to visit Mt. Chimney as often as you can!

HM08 Dive[edit | edit source]

Once you earn enough money, the HM08 Dive should be your first priority. This allows you to visit the Underwater Area, which is like Mt. Chimney but with different and more common drops. The Big Pearl is worth $4,000, but is much more common than the Comet Shard and a .

Second priority is the Scuba Gear - this DOES improve your chance of finding items, so after buying HM08 Dive you should get the Scuba Gear. Be sure to buy Dive first though - Scuba Gear doesn't do anything until Dive is unlocked!

Daily Challenge Prizes[edit | edit source]

Selling Evolution Stones[edit | edit source]

Evolution stones are worth more as money than for evolving Pokémon early game. This may seem counter-intuitive, since Evolution Stones let you collect even more Pokémon. But in the early game, you find a lot of Pokémon very fast, and most of them are going to level up through EXP rather than evolution stones. You can begin using stones on Pokémon once you own Dive and Scuba Gear.

Evolution stones and evolution items are not quite the same, though. Evolution items come in a wider variety, only evolve one or two species of Pokémon, and are in general harder to find. Both stones and items cost $2100 in the store, but you may want to save the items since they're harder to get for free.

How do I get REALLY COOL THINGS?[edit | edit source]

I see you've noticed NovariusHaze's profile. And he has a LOT of cool things. And I bet you want some cool things for yourself, too. Here's how to get just a few of them!
